Past The Surface Of Your Fright

Love lives in a space no one knows
I know you had dreams little girl
They come along and never go
But evil crushed your youthful world

I know how this life can look so bad
Words coming from a merry-go-round
Not knowing the right words makes me sad
Lip service comes easy all around.

Chorus:
I try to reach you, in the shadow of your fears
Though I want to, I can't seem to get it right
But for you girl........
I'll keep trying, to get past the surface of your fright.

Oh, girl, I feel your deepest worries
Your best, keeps fading into pain
I see your world discouraged
But there's always sunshine after rain

Bridge:
Never will your trials define you
Deep in you there's someone else
A gentle angel lies within you
A someone longing to get out

Chorus:
I try to reach you, in the shadow of your fears
Though I want to I can't seem to get it right
But for you girl.......
I'll keep trying, to get past the surface of your fright.

Oh, the prison of lovelessness
It's not easy as time goes by
That's one reason I can't rest
My love might ease your injured mind.

Chorus:
I try to reach you in the shadow of your fears
Though I want to I can't seem to get it right
But for you girl-
I'll keep trying, to get past the surface of your fright.

About a young beautiful woman who was brutally raped and the traumatic event caused a chemical reaction in her mind making her bipolar. Sometimes I wonder if the firing squad was such a bad idea after all if those men could be found. This happened 11 years ago and it has fouled up her entire life!!.

This is so sad, Eric. So well written. I have to agree about the firing squad.

Thanks MM I appreciate the comments.
Yes, it truly is sad but deserving of justice, which unfortunately isn't always applied because of the degree of situations like this that never get brought to the fore, with no discipline rendered..

Eric

The damage to the soul is irreparable.  One will never know the true cost.

Eric,
Very well done! Unfortunately rape is only one of any number of traumas that can do that to your mind. At least with a rape scenario it is easy for people understand the mental anguish and accept the idea of mental illness as a result. ~L

Very true Lori, however, it's right up there with the worst of them. Really appreciate the visit and comments... regards
