Your chair sits empty your books stacked neatly not how they used to be no water bottles or snack crumbs to be seen a blanket once used to cover your cold head, now neatly folded instead over the back of a chair that's now empty. Our conversations once flooded with wisdom and advice now simple and still meaningful words A voice once strong with opinions knowing what, when and where now but a whisper, sometimes barely there Eyes full and fierce now soft and a bit clouded with unsureness and fear do not fear dear grandpa I am here to hold your hand as much as I can to show you you are not alone So when your time comes Though I may not be ready... Just close your tired your eyes and let go. I'll miss you always. |

beautiful and heartfelt. Though extremely hard on us, sometimes seeing death arriving can be a blessing in allowing us to share more more with loved ones and the sharing of goodbyes. As I said, though...extremely hard on us. |

Touching and wonderfully written my friend. Memories aren't quite the same, but they do keeps us close to where we've been. j. |
