Love me from a distance- You dare not get too close. It seems the ones I hurt the worst, Are those I love the most. Distant love is safer far- So, keep me at arm’s length. I wish I were the tender sort- I do not have the strength. Pride, I fear, has ruled my life- And often brought me low. I’d like to leave that curse behind, It waits each place I go. Just what I am so proud of? I do not have a clue- Nor do I wish, my darling- To hurt or injure you. I do not want to lose you- Nor tear your heart apart- So love me from a distance, Through our poetic art. [This message has been edited by Gunslinger (11-27-2019 07:53 AM).] |
