I will meet you by the rainbow- Please tell me you will wait- I’ve a rocky road to travel, Forgive me if I’m late. You’ve won my heart, my darling- You amaze me with your charms- At night you haunt my dreams, dear, As I hold you in my arms. I can see us as we’re dancing- But there is no melody- For the music is inside us, A lover’s rhapsody. I can see us by the seaside- As we’re walking hand in hand… Laughing with each other- Walking barefoot on the sand. I can’t wait to make the crossing- As I take my final breath- I’ll go looking, hoping, longing- That we two are joined in death. Please don’t think me morbid- For with living I am sated- And life upon this planet- Is highly overrated. |

Oh, John, darling, what a beautiful and perfect reply to my poem! Our Dreamworld’! I wasn’t expecting that when I saw the title. Oh yes, of course I will wait for as long as ever you need. I love what you envisage for us, and no, I don’t think you are morbid. I can’t wait either. You have won my heart too and you fill my dreams. I love every word and nuance of this to-die-for (in both senses of the expression) poem. I love that you see us dancing to a lover’s rhapsody inside us. I love that you see us walking barefoot (the only way to enjoy the sand underfoot) by the seaside, hand in hand and laughing with each other. I love that I won’t be afraid of death knowing that we will be together. Thank you for this perfect gift! |
