A Gift Perhaps you never knew what you had done. Perhaps you never knew just what it meant. And still you gave with healing not begun, A gift ,so strong, so sweet, so sweetly sent. You never judged, you only let me know, You saw in me a good I couldn't see. You lifted spirits desperate and low, And once relentless pain deserted me. Once more indelibly, you've singed my core, Providing solace, wonderful and rare By reaching out anew just as before With sympathy and honest heartfelt care. Your place within my heart ever secure, For friendship given freely, sweet and pure. |
