America my beautiful, it is time to celebrate another year of all that we hold dear. Dressed in your finest red, white and blue, can’t hide the fact that this last year has been hard on you. The stress and pain of divisiveness is clear upon your face. Discrimination continues to disgrace the freedoms for which you stand. Greed and pollution threaten every corner of your land. Freedoms won are under attack. The weight is heavy on your back. Even your reputation has come into question as of late. You bear a rash of discontent and hate. Still, my beautiful America you stand proud. You refuse to wear a shroud of defeat or shame. You’ve come through harder times that this and our diverse nation did persist. You hold your head high as always, standing strong in all ways that matter most of all. A Lady I’m proud to call my country and my home. We celebrate your strength and resilience with pride and exuberance. Put another roman candle on your cake. Let fireworks fly for freedom’s sake. As friends and families join in the holiday spirit and the watermelon seeds fly and colors fill the sky, we look to the future to pursue it into a better time and way. Our allegiance we will always say to you America my beautiful. LGR(C)7/2/19 |
