And I realise belatedly I know none of the lullabies that will coax you to sleep But the show must go on So I dig deep into the mood-aggravated recesses of my twilight mind and belt out sad love songs from my teens You shriek in delight ~ it must be my mournful, soulful singing coupled with the rhythmic dong dong dong dong as if your back were a taiko drum Our voices synchronised a shrill crescendo reached As they die down you lie asleep on my shoulder silence, save for the dong dong dong dong reverberating off the space, Music to my ears —- My muse came back because I recently became a father |

This is SWEET! You paint an honest picture that is charming and delightful. The poem has rhythm and style. Congratulations, I can't think of a better way to bring back a muse. ~L |
