You Can Never Go Back Home |

I was sifting through some memories- Of bridges that I’ve burned: A hundred “roads not taken”, And some lessons I have learned. I’ve learned that dwelling on them- Will magnify our fears. And not to be the victim, Of a pretty woman’s tears. I’ve learned there is some wisdom, In “to thyself be true”… And don’t depend on others, To do what you should do. The saddest lesson I have learned- As down life’s road I roam… Is, “the past is gone forever”- You can never go “back home”. |

Memories are just that, John, and sad memories are birthed in joy and can recall a sliver of that quivering happiness when touching them for a moment under the sun. Lovely poignant poem. |

Lord knows I've tried that "going home..." sometimes memories are much more poignant. |

John, Very few of us get through this sticky business we call life, without looking back with regrets. I don't think if it matters if you are slugging it out alone or duking it out as doubles, you are still running the same obstacle course. You do a great job of telling your time in the trenches. ~L |

Excellent, John. So true and so sad and yet... |
