14 June 2004

Thank you, God, for redefining barriers …
to folding mountain blues
and golden greens
and exquisitely patterned snakes on rocks
and sunshine shoulders.
Thank you for thorns
and rocky pathways
and steep, slippery pathless slopes.
Thank you for breathlessness
and getting lost and cold and hot.
Thank you for teaching
that triumph is not reaching the summit,
but descending the other side.
It is subsiding panic
and escalating peace
and turning my trials into trails
for others to follow.

Thank you for every mountain.

Owl, Your Beautiful Poem just made me feel
better amidst all the flooding in my region.
Thank you for uplifting my spirit.

Sky (although I prefer the name AugustSky)

I am so sorry to hear about the flooding in your region.  However, it brings (happy) tears to my eyes, that it uplifted your spirit.  Sending my prayers for all those affected, and for the best possible solutions as soon as possible.
