The cursor taunts me- nanny nanny boo boo nanny nanny boo boo it whispers as it blinks upon the blank. My mind drifts aimless ear to ear in search of thoughts write worthy. Ida’s words concerning cursive caught me. But nothing came to me cohesive. Ice and snow on the way, but I’m not ready to say until it gets here. There is always my chronic disheveled discontent, juxtaposed upon my marital contentment to comment on, if only I was inspired. The nanny nanny boo boos are soon drown out by a louder voice telling me all I write is crap. I have no right to write a single word. Still here I sit with my longing to be heard. I could pop off with something punitive about the president. But I’d rather not offend my MAGA friends. With that in mind, I better not expound on global warming, racism or lies. I feel my socially indignant hands are tied. Good, bad or indifferent, this much is always true; writing is just what I do. It is like scratching an endless itch. It is a blemish I must pick. Now that I have said my piece- so much about nothing that was on my mind. I hope you’ll find that this mental meandering was worth your time. LGR(C)2/23/19 |
