The Boy Next Door By Paul Wilson He dared to open the door to the unknown not knowing what was on the other side The past a sad reminder of his life alone no one in which to confide Buying 45’s without a turntable to play them on How was he to know in this life of being a pawn He yearned to be like the rest of the kids in his neighborhood Riding bikes, playing ball growing into manhood All the other kids would pick on him never letting him feel like he fit in His home became his sanctuary never having someone to call a friend Throughout his youth treated like an outcast never fitting in with the rest He had a heart of gold to share with all he met on this journey through life he did his best Not many knew his name they just called him dummy or retard not caring about him or the hurt they caused treating him like a discard His name is not important his address I’d rather not say He’s just the boy next door that never came out to play He is my friend for life Copy Righted 3-4-19 Paul Wilson ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ Paul |
