The Madness In the nightmare of some madness comes a moment of the mind when colors fade, stones dissolve, events compact in Time to weigh upon the pumping heart’s plunge before a sin whose gravity steals the rational mind’s breath to suck you in. And there you stand, trembling without motion at the brink, morality pushing hard against the pull of what you think. Out from that chaos crashing comes a thought on mounted wings to rescue sounds of sanity so confused by wrecks of things. ‘Tho faint and brief its life to live, like breaths of single words, it grabs the thunder’s lightning strike and stills your hovering bird. And in that glimpse of clarity flash the colors which unfade, events outstretch and stones fall-in to march the mad parade along a road of rubble where the thought finds that lane which leads back where the real is just a step-over into the sane. In one's own reality there is safety. The "madness" exists just over that threshold. I spent a good deal of time outside of my perimeter, but I brought some of the "madness" home with me. Somehow, your poetry reminded me of the journey, and the subsequent "parade". Insightfully written, Namyh. ...just bein' Bluesy |

Most of us do play hopscotch with the madness to one degree or another. You are in depth Poet..and leave the reader pondering..which is a Good thing. Sky~ |

Bluesy - Perhaps in order to produce a little of "man's magic", it always needs a little of "man's madness", especially when you're back from the perimeter. Hope this helps when you need it and it's good to hear from you. Namyh |

Sky - It’s ironic how our poetic works are like our babies. We clean them, feed them, clothe them and then give them a change of pampers if needed. We’re Poet Parents and nurturing a baby idea into poetic adulthood is for many what keeps us sane from our surrounding madnesses trying to starve it. Stop here whenever you’re looking for one giant step out of ‘madness’ and a small poetic one into the ‘sane’. We’ll leave the lights on for the hopscotch within, especially in us crazy poets with parental issues! LOL. Thanks a lot Sky. Namyh |

Your second verse speaks volumes to me. You are such a fine poet and deep thinker. Makes me happy to read you because I always come away with a better sense of understanding...of the parade of life, if you will. ...brava Sir. |

It's indeed a fine line between madness and sanity sometimes. That is where being a poet comes in handy...we can straddle the line when writing lol Don't tell anyone but I'm related to the Mad Hatter! Much enjoyed Namyh ~ Huggerz Alana |

Namyh, as always I enjoy not only your poetry immensely, but also your thoughts. The madness for me is panic and worry, for example, when things get in the way of commitments that people are depending on me for, and my internet connections aren't working and I need them for whatever commitments (especially my computer course students) - and then those last 2 stanzas of your poem come into play with or without one of my 2 internet connections working, partially or properly and (as my son says I need to do - I slow down to the speed of lightning) and I can actually think and in so doing, find the permanent or temporary solution. Lovely poem, as always. |

Bluesy - No scribbler of words stands taller than when a kindred poet gains more understanding leaving a created work than first coming to it. Whoa! Now that definitely puts you on the extra-crispy-creme good side of me today. Thanks a lot B. Namyh P.S. - Add one more "lot" above. |

PIP - So happy to have you ride the fine line between madness and sanity with the rest of us. We poets straddle that line because we know what it means to be diagonally parked in a parallel universe. Hallelujah! P.S. - Hey! You know Mike the Mad Hatter too? |

Owl - If it wasn't for panic and worry sometimes, where would our creative juices flow. Thanks ow for enjoying. Namyh |
