Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2019-01-19 07:22 AM

Fell asleep early
so I could wake up
at 1:30 a. m. to go potty,
get a drink of water
and take some ibuprofen
for my achin’ shoulder.
It ain’t no fun growin’ older.
The dog woke up
and wanted out.
Three steps from the door,
turns around and comes back in.
Way too cold out there for him.
He begs a biscuit and goes back to bed.
Too bad it is only goin’ to get colder
because it ain’t no fun growin’ older.
Here I sit with a blanket,
all curled up around frozen feet.
Next thing I know I’m dying from the heat.
My hot flashes are growin’ bolder,
and it ain’t no fun growin’ older.
I have a complaint list
at least a mile long.
Most of what ails me
don’t look like nothing’s wrong,
I got high blood pressure and cholesterol,
not to mention my blood sugar and that’s not all,
there’s enough to fill a folder.
This ain’t no fun, growing older.

"Getting old"
means you're not there yet,
Miss Lori.

Remember
that 60
is now the new 40!

...just bein' Bluesy

ARG! Tell that to my old body Bluesy! You are as old as you feel and I feel all my 61 years.
I know I'd feel better if I'd lose a few. ~L
