Gifts are all bought and wrapped and ready for emancipation. All that’s left now is the anticipation of looks on faces and comments they’ll make. Did I get it right or make a mistake? Will everyone feel like I was fair and they got their share? Should I have gotten shirts instead of dresses? Too late now for second guesses. All the receipts I have got for all the things that are not the right color, size or fit. Or don’t delight even a little bit. Now is when I hurry with last minute Christmas flurry. I don’t have time for giving worry. Besides, my family isn’t greedy, selfish, whiny or needy. I have no real reason to fret with gift regret. It is pain to see it is just my imagination getting the best of me when all that’s left now is the anticipation. LGR(C)12/16/18 |

brilliant build up to Christmas. feel the excitement all the way through. did feel your worry at the end but I think most people are like this. as getting older realizing its less about the gifts and food and all that and more about quality time. most enjoyable to read was your poetry. |
