This Christmas Day On this tree whose leaves fall like rain, whispers of sound on presents unclaimed, ribbons have come unfurled, lights have dimmed – burned out, and Christmas balls leave shattered remains on carpeted floor – ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ the phone never rings, bright green tree turned blue, despairingly shades to black – the loss of you, my son, this Christmas Day. © wesley james beard, jr. December 2003 *** See That Child See the people, see the crowds, laughing and gay, talking, waving their hands, window shopping, as they go on their way. See that child, over there, before the window where the Christmas Tree stands. See the colored lights and Christmas balls reflecting in her eyes, on her cheeks, where the tears run. See that child crying, alone, forgotten - dying inside. See that child… oh please, see that child. This Christmas Day ©wesley james beard, jr. December 2003 © wesley james beard, jr. Jimmy! You always seem to find that perspective where you can sneak up on a person's heart and grab it and give it a good squeeze. Fantastic as per your usual my friend. ~L |

augustsky - ah, corn meal mush? Or my favorite, grits with pulled pork, or left overs from a pork roast, mixed in, and a few seasonings (we called it scrapple), pored into a flat pan or bowl about 5/8's to 1/2" thick, , chilled in the fridge, cut into 2 or 3" pieces and pan fried. Scrumptious! "mush" otherwise, my friend - I'm honored. LeeJ Heart beats from me, my friend. Lori your comments always warm me up, my friend, I love it! walk easy . . . you guys. jimmy |
