Lost At Sea
By Paul Wilson

To all those poor souls that threw
caution to the wind… upon the seven seas
Lust for adventure running thru their veins
their fate cast upon the gentle breeze

Pirates and thieves taking from the rich
killing those that got in their way
Innocent people and ships sent to a watery grave
for those lost at sea we pray

"Red sky in morning
sailors take warning
Red sky at night
sailors delight"

Southerly wind upon the sea warns of coming storms
thousands lost at sea do abide
Oceans claim their victims
so many souls drift upon the tide

Sailors and fishermen…passengers and military
protecting our shores with their lives
Family and friends they are missed by all
now they reside in a sea of archives

Covered by their watery grave
no head stone marks their resting place
Men, women, children and foe
All memories of the human race

No compass to guide them home
No sunrise to greet them in morning
No stars to plot their course
No sound of forewarning

Lost At Sea
Never to be found
Lost at sea
With the sea forever bound

Lovely tribute, dear Paul. Written as though you know the sea yourself.

Blessings

I always have time for you...

Wonderful piece, my friend.  One small quibble though - to me

"Red sky in morning
sailors take warning
Red sky at night
sailors delight"

should probably have been attributed in anyone of several different ways.  Quotations, as above, words leading into, or out of, for example.

Enjoyed this well written piece . . .

j.
