With her eyes she asks so much of me, her hands unsteady in a rush Watching her fingers rise in their weakness, I beckon all that I can afford Being here for her is all that I can do, these yearnings in which I find myself in attendance, I am incapable of denying Her desires grow stronger and I know what she wishes Her longings are rooted deep within her womanhood and I provide for them as I can Her friends know me as 'distant', yet not beyond their reach They smile from the parlor and she approaches them in her way Their airs fill the room with jasmine and patchouli and they love her as she needs them to ...far more than I could know yet, not more than I do. Pass the Glade if you're going to do that here... |

This poem has the feel of one precariously balanced on a tightrope... and yet, while maybe only a foot or two off the platform, the walker seems inclined to ignore peril and keep moving forward, such is the reward he envisions. Ignorance is bliss, and eyes that see too much a curse sometimes. And love only hurts when expectations are laid waste. that there is the conundrum I guess, for true love is love without expectancy I know. Kudos for all the thought this lil piece inspires. |

It's a great compliment when one harmonizes so well with the writings of another. Insights, life experiences and intuition all come into play. I'm so grateful Michael for your attentive reading of my poem. Thank you. Pass the Glade if you're going to do that here... |

i love the understandings of the characters in your poem, they are alike a mirror, they seem tied together, the woman is a key for that, the intimacy of the words convinced me , excellent yann |
