Tandem Flashpoint Copyright 2018 by: Mark V Sheldon Through sanguine haze My veteran heart is Combusting with the California Fires Ten days after your birthday Twenty years after our flames Still smoldering in Charred reminisce Embers of how I made you happy Remembering the fireplace Logged heat of proximity Sparks, smoke, and mirror Reflecting on a Misaligned timeline Slow-burning our forged Destiny to the ground Where dormant coals remain Buried in ashes of our past Glowing, going on Stoked by your still In my dreams I reach To connect to you To the US we once knew To the one we will be Wants more than a Single torch or a Soulitary candle In the Santa Ana winds Blowing time across Yesteryears, calendars Kindling the pyre Fanning the blame Igniting a life in limbo Striking a match made In heaven not Withstanding the burden of Two souls consumed with The other side of another Reality unfolding Holding hope for The next life when Synchronicities synchronize Two lives in Tandem Flashpoint You CAN make a difference, but first you should learn how. Loved this poem of your true(?) love and giving love with your "veteran heart." ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

Your poem pulled me along and I particularly enjoyed the last few lines where the hope (that I look for in life and love) is expressed so well. Thank you. |
