Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Old souls
feel so familiar
when you meet them.
They fit your heart
like a Hallmark card.
They make you smile,
your heart feel warm
and give you reason
to laugh out loud.
Old souls are lovers,
not haters-
givers,
not takers.
They are blessings
by virtue of the fact
that they done
been  there did that.
With wisdom
they can relate
to you and yours.
And empathy is
part and parcel
of their journey.
Old souls are sometimes
like four leaf clovers-
few and far between.
So if you know one,
keep them close
to heart and hearth.

Nice!
Melodically with the heart strings strumming.
Loved it!

Have know a few (still know some), but one in particular stands out - he was only 15 and far, far older than me.

Great piece, my friend.

This was a warm & wonderful read.
I've known a few adults that are old souls,
& a couple children who I think of as 'old-souls'..special indeed.

Calling it like it is with simplicity and directness. Kudos.
