The Wilderness We two alone in the wilderness of each other heart upon bone love is a secret shared under covers now the day’s fire turn to embers of night and as you turned your eyes caught the light I saw myself rise and fall in that amber glance as warm as our breath close together in a dance across the vast sea of age turn another page We two atone for the wildness in each other we sigh and moan ‘cause love is one thing after the other we must decide if it’s worth the rough ride so as you turned your eyes you caught me inside I saw every stumble and triumph in our path we learn to endure and we remember to laugh in the face of the world our smiles all unfurled There is a thunder in a man that matches the lightning in a woman each second between the two could there be love gleaming and true two souls on a tsunami wave that must never crest two heartbeats echo across this wilderness And there’s always something in a man that always needs something in a woman the miles between each touch an uncertainty that gets to be too much two souls on the wing following the storm west two heartbeats like music across this wilderness We two alone in the wilderness of each other the future unknown love is all that won’t tear us asunder sailing on a vast sea of age until the very last page Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist |
