Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Your day is gray
even if the sky is blue.
Nothing seems as good
as it used to be
and that includes me too.
Brooding has become
your new best friend
and worry your soulmate.
As you sink deeper
into your mire,
I’m caught in the undertow.
Each time I get pulled down
I catch glimpses of a world
I cannot fathom.
It is black and white
with all the color drained out.
Air so stale it’s memorized.
Humor has soured to snark.
And I at the bottom of your ocean
rot and rust and turn to dust.

Pinkpickmeup,
Bless your heart and thanks for the hug. Cancer has left him with a nasty case of depression and that is hard on mine. Convincing him he needs help is proving to be problematic. ~L
