If I Should Fall In Love With You Autumn glow fast forward straight to slo mo the afternoon finds me as the last leaf to fall Chestnut hair falls over an eye without care a momentary glance nails my heart to a wall I wouldn't know just what to do if I should fall in love with you Crowded street the last breath of summer heat I see her luthier's shape beyond the blur Foolish eyes when they close at nightfall's rise they lie to me and show me right beside her I wouldn't have a ghost of a clue if I should fall in love with you I feel a lightness in my step and a softness in my grip around my beating heart around my beating heart can't see the forest for the trees can't say I've ever truly seen a tree if I may abuse a metaphor stumbled on the words what for Autumn glow watering feelings to grow the afternoon finds me as my defenses fall I'm at a loss of what to do I've fallen deeply in love with you No I didn't think I'd ever believe what sweet fate had up its sleeve that you would fall in love with me "Peace is more than the absence of war" -- Prince |
