On the news I saw his wife hold his arm as he led her down the sidewalk swinging his cane. He was smiling. His eyes were open. She wasn’t leading him. The cane was a prop. His act had been none too convincing from the get go. He must have thought the jury was going to go his way, that last walk into the courthouse. The jurors may not have seen that, But they saw enough and apparently they weren’t blind either. |
