Drifting On

Drifting on and on
the night is a song
sung in minor key
drifting away away
the opening chord of day
I've found lingering inside me

Counting one two three
the heartstrings that we
play when we're together
counting three two one
these moments we've won
may these moments last forever

So say you'll stay
I'll be the sun and the ocean spray
say you'll say yes
you'll be the moon and the waves that crest
come crashing down on me
I'd drown myself in you
love's like I've never dreamed it would be
I'll sing you a tune in blue
love's all the promise of the dawn
together we'll go drifting on

Dancing on and on
the night is so long
when I'm without you
dancing away away
so much I can't say
so I'll sing till it comes through

So say you'll stay
I'll be the silver in your clouds of grey
say you'll say yes
you'll be the gold treasure I love best
come shining just for me
I'd wrap myself in you
love's like I've never dreamed it would be
I'll sing to you that my heart is true
love's all the colors of the dawn
together forever drifting on

The coda chord of day
we'll play
with our favorite song
as we drift along
on and on and on
drifting on...
