Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2018-04-12 05:56 PM

My front to the sun.
My back casts a shadow.
My shadow is long.

Just temporary.
Just the old shadow and me.
Just remembering.

Each day ticks away
Each tock makes the shadow grow.
Each night fades to black.

"Fade to black," the oft remarked and temporary rest from the days thoughts and remembrances. Until, of course, until daybreak when the call is to go forth with the sun at your back.
