True friends,
real friends,
good friends,
want what is best for us.
They expect us to be our better selves,
but don’t reject us when we aren’t.
They are a constant reminder
of our true selves,
and the self we wish to be.
They are like a magic mirror
that reflect us in our best light.
Then gently illuminates
the less than perfection
that is giving us grief.
These kind of friends
can be few and far between.
They are once or twice in a lifetime
kind of friends.
