Our own brave new world,
a place where no one else
knows our hearts’ or our ways

Our own piece of ground
that we can till, cultivate
and sustain ourselves for all our days

Our own peace of mind,
not encumbered by the ways of others;
their shortcomings, or their impositions of our time

Our own thoughts, flailing free without the cares
or struggles, no emotions to juggle
between the laugh lines and the tears

A place where
no one knows our hearts’
...or our ways
