There are those creatures that discard their outer layer. As they grow into new tender skin they are vulnerable. I am such a creature. In transition, I seek shelter in my words while my new facade firms. My heart exposed, it feeds on any kindnesses that drift by it. Soon enough I will toughen up in my new skin with wrinkles and spots and tufts of gray. Safe in my own skin again I will remember where the kindnesses came from. LGR(C)2/26/18 |

As long as we're breathing we can come to know more of our 'inner selves'...but some kindness coming from outside of ourselves gives us a warm, cuddly feeling that we just can't imitate alone.
