Once upon a time I was a goddess. My hair was long and flowing My smile was as inviting as my eyes were unnerving. And my body was a promise of pleasure. My head was held high. I felt strong and confident, poetry flowed like water. But time and circumstance have taken their toll. My goddess has evaporated into the ether. My crone is coming to take her place. I can see her in my creasing face and slowly graying hair. Side glances in window glass reflect changes in pounds and posture. There is no denying the frump. There is also no acknowledging of wisdom gleaned. I’ve not earned the right of sage. My purpose has changed into something less dazzling but perhaps more important. Because love is all I need do to be a grandma. 2/18/18 |

Wish the little sweeties lived closer and visited more often. I'm getting excited for the one due in May. ![]() ![]() |
