There is a coldness in the air I feel it on my skin though I Feel nothing My heart beats though the soul is long since departed The lights danced for me long ago on the night of the smiling moon They dance as excited fairies cut a hundred tiny paths through dank nights I saw the fading suns Pass into obsolescence to became memory then myth I watched as my own fractured We spread and thinned across the worlds and times I watched extinction True extinction as the worlds went out one by one My heart and my mind Moved from box to box always me but less Am I a shadow These eyes/eye/sensors have beheld/seen such things I heard its approach The single perfect not bang that called time on time So now I wait Though is it waiting without frame or future/past A wave is coming I See it a still of perfect black on perfect black Its prevailing mist soaks Moments of infinity pass ahead I witness nothingness I see the universe As the universe sees/saw/was itself barren and empty I knew there was no meaning Eternities and galaxies come and gone I watched Only in the swell It shows me birth to death to undeath to undeath. Always watching And in its mind I am revealed/shown/stripped/naked There is me Impulses and mathematics cruel cold and beautiful I ride the wave I return to the beginning and eternal/instant there. It is Life The explosion tears as nothing else could do I die Yet I remain A dream on the solar winds the universe drinks me in A thousand thousand worlds Each becoming my body each alive and dead. I have seen no I once believed i was a child of the sun/god He has not come So I do his work i look at my bodies and cup my hands I pour life. My own life rains down upon dry dirts and i change The greens come I am made less in some way my ghost memories evaporate I pour again. movement small and indistinguishable from life My children swarm Still no light and souls come so I make my own I have lost all My eyes/eye/senses grow dim as I tip my last. There is a coldness in the air I sit on my log and watch the stars and I dream of seeing God |

Oh...Walter Poe....the loneliness in this howls from my toes on up.....and makes me shiver....I saw galaxies scream through my mind in this....sweeping in its depth...just... Wow. |
