Late day storm, and the shadow of its aftermath harsh shades of grey solder to the barest of branches over last spring's nests on the somber toned sky, a whisper of lavender for now, the only pastel and hint at rebirth on this redundant wintry night [This message has been edited by EmmaRose (01-22-2014 09:10 PM).] |

Oh, the "hint of rebirth" can be taken a couple of ways, Emma. Both of them will be good. The good Lord didn't create anything without a purpose, but mosquitoes come close. |

Beautiful, EmmeRose. I'm glad there is, at least, that hint, amidst the stark beauty of winter's deprivation. Owl |

Winter is a beautiful season for many reasons, but it's brutality is more often remembered. Old folks recalling "the winter of_______" (fill in the year) and such. Your poetry, in its lovely allegorical way, appreciates the character of Winter while finding subtle airs of Spring. Pleasurable reading. ...just bein' Bluesy |
