Rembember when the sun shone cancer free and kissed your bones with vitamin D and you swang shoeless as a mockingbird with painted toes smiling into the sky and a field brimmed with all possibility and you could balance on a cloud wisp and stare into the dark with the flight of a lightening bug remember when the grass climbed backwards running away gleefully into the sky and dreams flourished like bubbles spreading across the ocean, unclaimed and for the taking remember when boys were still icky and you and your friends snickered at their awkwardness? remember life before a boy broke your heart? |

Yep. Boys were and are the culprits then as they are now. I have heard a rumor that scientists are working on making women so perfect men will finally not be needed. What a glorious day that will be. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ [This message has been edited by JerryPat2 (06-08-2014 07:09 PM).] |

EmmaRose,Indeed I can remember back to fourth grade when I had my first crush on Bobby. How cute and sweet were those innocent days.I am afraid the young today have advanced too fast into things we had no idea of then. Best to you, jo [This message has been edited by latearrival (06-08-2014 09:20 PM).] |

Hmmm - most of that was "...'fore my time'" as Kenny Rogers said in "The Ballad of Calico" album ... and, ah-hem, I was (mostly still am) a "boy" and Never found "us" icky, and I Never tripped over myself . . . well, maybe around girls, but "icky"??? And the only broken heart I was around was the one some girl(s) gave me to carry home!! Ha! Loved it, my friend and enjoyed it much! jimmy |

I think your poetry is cut above as it carries incite in the careful phrasing. No critique just enjoyed the reading. Nice one. Cari |
