We never touched the sands we sat instead, on deck and sipped the tonic of the day we never went too deep to secret places where the demons and the darkness meet for each, to reach the other and soothe in tender ways we never touched the sands the foam, a tempting gateway though we barely brushed it our prints on late day tides never taken, our silhouettes, to never etch engravings of this, a one time day and place we never touched the sands we choose the comfort of the shoreline sipping tonics in the skylit haze that now just fades your face we never bruised the sands alas ! the blessings and the curse of superficial 'love' not much more to muse of you not much for the waves to wash away. I love this Emma. You were perfect with the telling of it and the ending was as perfect and the telling when this was written . . . quote: and . . . quote: This one grabbed me. The good Lord didn't create anything without a purpose, but mosquitoes come close. |

EmmaRose, I challenge you to write a more beautiful poem than this. I don’t think that even you can do so. I feel and understand the particular kind of sorrow in this. You deserve a man who has as beautiful and evolved a heart and soul as yours. May you find one. You deserve only the very best. Owl |
