I held a flower in my hand, Its colors were alive and grand. I decide to crush out its worth, And give unto it a new birth. The flower is mangled in death, It has no beauty and no breath. If I could bring back the hour, I'd not dishonor the flower. ~*~ The poor wish to be rich, the rich wish to be happy, the single wish to be married, and the married wish to be dead. ~*~ [This message has been edited by JerryPat2 (05-25-2014 03:08 PM).] |

A bittersweet truth Don't we all wish we could take something back and do it over and leave a situation untouched? It is so human to try to possess and control. I like this poem as it symbolizes alot for me. Thanks my friend. Lori ![]() |

Thank you Lori, even though it took two days for this poem to be commented on. Unbelievable. ~*~ The poor wish to be rich, the rich wish to be happy, the single wish to be married, and the married wish to be dead. ~*~ |

This could be applied to any thoughtless action that destroys or harms. Makes one think and perhaps be more thoughtful in the future. |

You are so right, Beverly. I used the beautiful flower, but it could be a crushed beautiful relationship, or a number of other things. ~*~ The poor wish to be rich, the rich wish to be happy, the single wish to be married, and the married wish to be dead. ~*~ |
