Scarred from a harsh winter I wonder if I can embrace again waiting for leaves, the sycamore standing in limbo, the pink delayed on the trunk and the branch The Master promises rebirth, yet I fall back into the arms of a stranger, still uncertain into whose arms I can seek respite in Hard to let go, when the pain had retreated deep in the marrow Fearing uncertainly the future's promise dilutes with the roar of the night train |

Throughout the sad and wistful lines of this poem, Emma, is an underlying current of hope for the future. No, I can't believe you've given in on someone to embrace. And who knows, it may be that he is on that night train. ~*~ How come abbreviated is such a long word? ~*~ |

Can't believe I overlooked this little gem EmmaRose. As per your usual it is wonderful the way you swirl your words around in the darker shades. Lori |

... and a 'gem' it is indeed ... fine 'slice of life' mix of reality and Romanticism! |
