Taking a pill today to keep my additions at bay My hands are shaking and my stomach is quaking I heeded them when they said I hadn't needed them They were just making me sleepy I didn’t know they would keep me from taking my addictions In other directions Like food Which isn’t good My diet’s a joke It went up in smoke My diabetes has gone to hades My failure to thrive isn’t keeping me alive I wallow in pasts of guilt and shame and other emotions I cannot name So I took a pill today to make me feel okay No more anxiety driving me to death |

Oh, Lori, another poem on the sad side. I understand this, however, because I have been there, done that. Wishing you future comfort and peace. ~*~ Love is friendship set on fire. ~*~ |
