In White The morning star, the crescent moon; Another day begun too soon. Where who you are is lost to time, As dark hounds bay— as cold winds chime A tune to you that none else hear Progressing through life without fear. For why fear what goads you to fall When you've already lost it all? A brilliant glare across the sky, The sun rises to claim your eye; And so you dare to stare into The surprises it offers you, (Who cannot see, holds but lament For life, and love, and dream misspent). Missing all opportunity To share in others' unity. Stars on the sky, so dark and vast; Another day gone way too fast. Exhaustion will soon take its toll, And lay to rest this wayward soul. But in these wee hours of peace, Where I but await true release; Knowing this story nears its end, I've one favor to ask, my friend: I've seen forever, looking back; I've faced this world, dressed in black. My life, one of eternal night, Tomorrow please dress me in white. Michael Anderson 3/31/14 |

A request for tomorrow I sincerely hope will be listened to. You captured the gist of blackest misery all too well, Michael. ~*~ In America, anyone can become president. That's the problem. ~*~ |

Bravo Michael! Wonderfully rendered! Your words seemed more delecate in this piece, to me. I liked it very much! Lori |

Thanks Jer and Lori. My words still come out dark, old habits I guess. My soul seems, though, for lack of a better term completely still at this moment in time. A kind of peace that comes with gained acceptance and the absence of regret. Unfortunately, I think I still hinder myself from one thing: hope... for what, exactly, I am not sure. But I see it in others and know it is a feeling I am not familiar with. Maybe hoping for hope itself is where it starts for me. Michael |
