Watch the world spin away We are what remains We were the last few it seems Just a final congregation Burning up purples and greens In a thinning atmosphere The genome unravels The world is as it was We, the traces that remain Slowly breaking down We spiral towards the light Our base selves cast out Who we are at the core of us Returns once more to our mother The Fire that birthed The Chaos that bled Our elements once cast Flowing back on vacuums currents We become no longer 'we' Merely a ghost breeze Not real a background To the background and we fall To completion And we return To the end. To the beginning. I aint as good as I once was but I'm as good, once, as I ever was. - Toby Keith |

A fitting discription to the return to a dust from which we came and retaking our place in the universe. If it was supposed to be a dire prediction it did not come across that way to me. It was more like telling the flow of a river. Way to go Walter! Lori PS In my lazy opinion it'd be great to see all three poems together in 1 post. I really enjoyed this, though I havn't as yet read the first two parts of thr trilogy. Part of me has always believed this earth we've betrayed as a race would reclaim a perfect natural balance once we humans destroyed ourselves. I found this reminiscent of that. Michael |

This one is my favourite, simple yet full of meaning. |
