back alley princes in praise
  for those suffering all ills
seeking your healing heart
I, in my days spent in bitters
   reached out my hand and
you washed me with tears
relieving my soul of its burdens

in the pale of streetlamps
  boroughs of fallen angels
outcast for the price
of a pint of cheap liquor
lie in their gutter hotel
in need of your tears, as I
in need of a smile, as I
born again in you, as I

Touch, but don't look

I absolutely and positively do relate . . .

~*~ There was a sign on the lawn at a drug re-hab center that said 'Keep off the Grass'. ~*~

Intrigued but speechless...

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
