The Wolves of Winter These are the bitter days the cruel days ... beyond redemption ... lost in the perpetual recurrence of haunted memories, broken dreams, and nebulous hopes that have lead only to obscurity and this empty moment. Only dark wolves run these barren woods along every path we have never taken or can walk no more. As the eagle soars above a thousand miles of Winters desolation, is there some distant, timeless, unnamed place where, forgiving life, we may be reconciled among the stars? --- b. e. adams (1/11/2014) [This message has been edited by secondhanddreampoet (01-11-2014 06:09 PM).] |

quote: Your poetry asks a question theologians have struggled to answer for centuries. The scientific community, when bothered to do so, also have examined the issue of 'post-breath' existence, or life after death. Beyond the test-tube, there is an answer but that's all that any person can really say. None of the living have been dead long enough to answer it, those firmly in the grave can't answer it and no one living can answer it. That is what faith is for and your poetry seems to explain the need for it. ...just bein' Bluesy |

As the gentleman before me so aptly explained, that question cannot be answered truthfully because of what he said, and I agree, Bruce. Faith. It is very difficult to have a faith that strong concerning what has been written in the Holy book. If the mob governs, man is ruled by ignorance; if the church governs, he is ruled by superstition; if the state governs, he is ruled by fear. |

You lend credence to the Old-World storybooks in this description Bruce...when wild lands ran riot and animals still held high ground... I SOOO get your metaphor of the wolves and freedom as well, the images produced are just vivid, ancient almost ~d Open arms can be the most fragile in the world... |
