yesterday it rained all day
Mardi Gras ruined
the sky cleared for today
turned blue
a redbird urged spring to hurry
on a tree branch
filled with leftover raindrops
the bird sang a sweet tune
the raindrops
swooned onto the ground

"the raindrops
swooned onto the ground"

Just a heads up Jerry, I'll be stealing this line just as soon as I forgot where it came from.

A not-so-common sight up here, but when I do see one, it's a real treat. Plenty of Red Tail Hawks and old Robin Red-Breasts, but few Cardinals...unless they're Catholic.

Very much enjoyed!

Touch, but don't look
