I was awakened with desire when we accidentally met on a crowded street our eyes caressed each other you opened your mouth to speak I reached out a hand to brush your lovely arm you averted your eyes I let my hand drop without the caress intended though it’s been years that we were oh so in love I’m stirred by your presence I could tell you felt the same way my life these days most would consider to be good I have a new love I’ve heard that you do too we have both gone on in a new direction why then did we hesitate as we met just now I know why she knows why also we both felt that love we had for each other why then didn’t we stop go somewhere for coffee because . . . we are still so much in love ©January 8, 2017 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |
