        Lunar Incantations

Ancient incandescent orb of
    magic and mystery
who talks against time,
and paints these lovely ‘endless’
  hills and forests
in soft-silver moonbeam shadows,
just beyond the twilight evening
  afterglow …
bright-imperfect sky mirror
reflection of ourselves,
who pulls the tides of land, sea,
  and love,
grand inspiration of poets, dreamers,
lovers, moonatics, and fools ...
may you shine on in resplendent glory
forever in our finest infinite cosmic
  dreams

Ahhh . . . Yes, the magic of nature and all its wonderment spelled out masterfully within the confines of the poets thoughts.

thanks so much for 'resurrecting' this write and for your comment/reply post on it!

I believe I would tend to 'modify' the Channing quote though to:

Love is the melody of the heart,
the harmony of the spirit ...
and the song of the universe
