Limbo. We have scaled the peaks, Nothing left to climb The rust of familiarity Corrodes affection ~ Comfortable apathy To indifferent for hate Picking words with care Preserving the status quo ~ Polite nonsense For the benefit of friends Easily performed With cold eyes ~ How long will the show run Before the actors leave the stage? And where do we find answers for the children’s questioning eyes? * * Not a personal poem but a comment on the rising divorce rate that is nearing 50%. |

As long as truth prevails (and the search for it), there will be divorces. This line of yours: quote:...reminded me of "familiarity breeds contempt". Another truth to avoid perhaps, like statistics. Loving Linny Jean is poetry. |
