A Day in May One day in May she showed up at the French Café just like she was a customer every day. I remember taking a drink of my wine, when I first lifted it to my lips she was no where to be seen but just as soon as I placed my glass down she was sitting across from me like a dream; my eyes took in her natural beauty like it was their duty and my mouth full of fresh wine wasted no time telling her she was fine, she was amused that I was so taken with her beauty and when I asked her to dance with me she said yes, but it sounded like wee, wee, I was pleased that she would be pleased to dance with me; we danced, we drank. we laughed and talked away this happy day inside this little French Café, together we seemed to be having so much fun so I felt a sadness when she said she had to run, before she left I asked if I would see her again, she said someday, some fine day my friend, with that she ran from the Café and I never saw her again. Wonderfully romantic. Sometimes, an afternoon fling leaves warmer memories than a 30 year marriage. One ladle serves the soup that feeds the mouths of the many. |

What a memory to look back on. Maybe she's out there somewhere thinking of you too. |
