Just A Slice Of The Pie

Lost in gazes
A fascination
When first my heart met yours

There were so many wishes
between the absence of kisses
when our hearts went out to play

Still, through the dark distance
there was a lover's persistence
that the play would never end

So the curtain rises
on a stage of surprises
leaving the audience thrilled

And you, my leading lady
And I, your leading man
catch the thornless roses

...and capture our gazes once more

I want to die in my sleep like my grandfather...not like the passengers screaming in the back of his car.

I like it fine SL, but what's with the title? I thought you had another name for it. But thanks, I really like it.

Eh . . . For some reason I'm shying away from this well-written poem.
