I saw a sailboat with your last name anchored at Birnbeck pier. Shells bearing the marks of your finished years line the flooding deck. Where did your heart go? Did it press against the sails like wind aching to reach the storms with the hope it could start again? Did it flow with the lightening current and kiss the sea? I saw your hand tangled with the watered weeds, prying open mussels like a locked box, reaching desperately for a lost memory. I saw your eyes reflect the waves, the ebb and flow of a tragedy unwritten, a treasure chest full of coins and broken dreams. You turn the boat's wheel toward the horizon, a place where the sky and ocean meet. You lick your lips and taste the salt of your secrets, and wave a gentle goodbye to the land. |

What can I say, Blues has said it all, but I will say this don't run away! Stay with us. ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

Birnbeck pier? Well, just a stone's throw if you are strong enough. Beautifully written, with a passion that is somehow lost these days. |
