it whispers beneath the skin--
burrowing towards the core,
how it seems to always win
the darkness wrapped in a different lure.
And further down it sinks its bait the
feelings I least know of all--
the ones wrapped less in pain
and more in those happy little thoughts'
some might even call it "love".

Yet how I scale back that which has yet
to be found, and how I have yet to touch upon
giving, for is this now the burden of a crown
to give freely knowing that what you're giving
may never be felt-- awash with the truth
which states how can you give what you have not
received? how can you produce that which has
not been consumed within you' as flesh from
animals drives a inner meaning of spirit--
what does without state upon my soul.

I've known the sharp pain of that hook trying
to sink into the last pieces of "hope".
Words have their magic and doings have their
meanings-- i've been like a lost soul upon
a vessel out in that vast unknown floating upon
the waters surface' it matters not which way
I transverse' for it is my inner that is broken and
of need of a course' to speak truthfully I am
shattered as would a glass ball be if dropped--
scattered into many pieces each piece as sharp
as the last hurting and afraid to be touched.

I haven't touched another human being in years
not held a hand, or caressed a face--
nor kissed the lips and sank into eyes
felt a presence on my flesh,
stood with speaking thoughts coming from
mine own' I recall her saying i've got my
horny eyes on--
and now i've just relocated
the horns.

Okay. A bit (a lot actually) of self analysis you have given yourself. Those last few lines about not touching another human being, I can actually relate to. But like most of us when we self analysis, I think you may have been a bit too hard on yourself!

It's hard to use your hands when they're always filled with time.

Loving Linny Jean is poetry.

enjoyed, as we say in french, des états d'âme, yours are moving towards hope i guess when you feel lucidity and some new detachment or simply love

You write with an admirable honesty that  touches the surface of the emotions this reader feels. How could I feel more? Some will always mistake horny eyes for troubled eyes.

Kinda hard for me to understand, but as you say "words do have their magic".

I want to die in my sleep like my grandfather...not like the passengers screaming in the back of his car.

This is so good. The entirety, obviously. Darkness wrapped in a different lure.. I love that.
