tenderness: is the rope you bond your/self with~

c a d m i u m~

we lay in silence not like lovers
in a bed borrowed with moonlight
its dark palms run heavy
over stills and ashes
and mantles of night

autumn will claim her bride --one body
among silver and red draw
watch as she settles in
over spine
and blue wings

here
i am left
leashed and brooding
still--
unspoken--
coupled with silence
over black earth
how the moon will come
to taunt my path
and soul's desire

as i wait--i wait drowning
in amber emptiness
and the crumbling
grace of stones
each grain, each particle of dust
that falls is
blown softly from your cupped hands
why silence fills you
in form of beauty
i will never understand

why

the season of air is
between palm and prayer
grain and sand
i will never understand
the press of body
is a confession
in broken glass
and scattered light
my echos haunt dreams
and warm flesh longing

only to bury the grey of stones
&remind me
i am always with-in the shades of you
between echo and dream
bidding farewell
