How simple it is two place two fingertips together
and press till that numbness appears--
but the longer you hold it the worse the feeling
becomes growing like a dull sensation of aching
into a cry of release-- minutes sinking deeper into
hours' what was it like to be free from that feeling?
Is it as simple as letting go?

I've been asked repeatedly to explain
depression.
Though i guess at the end of the day--
I can't blame your thoughts of
"well I've been sad, I've cried
how worse can depression be
isn't it just sadness?".

Just remember I don't need saving
i'm of the darkness and the light--
both embrace my body and tangle to
my soul-- I recall walking home in the
darkness, night' the only light the
stars dotted like fireflies against the
blanket of silence' for if your awake long
enough the chattering lies down to slumber
and in that place is a peace.

Whilst the light brings colors
the greens, the yellows, the reds
the warmth, spread out into a hazard
of swarms walking in all directions--
speaking as if they command you'
to veil the senses in the humming
such is to be that of a shadow against
the soul, showing only the outlines
but nothing of the center.

How does depression feel?
I simply do not have the words.

Yes. Yes. I have talked with a few people who have depression. This I have found out. There is no way to explain depression to someone who have never been depressed.

Depression is millions of different feelings of millions of different people. Every cry that I hear tells me: You will be ok, son. Powerfully written.

The way mood disorders are usually described is through the use of metaphors. When you can't find the words, find an image.
